It's crazy how many oddball records people really work to break. Half the time it makes you wonder how the records even started in the first place, it feels like they're basically invented on the spot and Guinness is like, yep we can do that. Like the guy who ate 82 chicken nuggets in one sitting and became every late night drunks hero. Or even the Indian guy who somehow figured out he could shove 459 plastic straws into his mouth. You want weird, there's a good chance there's a Guinness world record for it somewhere. But sometimes the records are a bit more interesting, like solving a Rubik's Cube. You know the things we always struggled with as kids.

Every now and then, we all sit down with a Rubik's Cube and try to solve it again and it's still just as hard. We soon regret it, however, because those things are impossible to solve fully. We usually get like 1/10 of the way through and run out of patience and move on. Makes you wonder who actually tried to complete those things as kids, especially when video games existed.

But professional speedcuberSeungBeom Cho can solve the thing in seconds, 4.59 seconds, to be exact. Here's a video to prove it...

It took everyone in the room longer to realize that Cho had pulled it off than it did for him to solve the cube. Cho broke the world record using a specific tactic that we can't even begin to comprehend.

It all took place in Chicago, at the World CubeAssociation's ChicaGhosts 2017. And people were pretty impressed...

We all wish we could be this good. Maybe some day we'll solve that dang thing.
